Johnny Vega

Dr Johnny Vega was born in New York City but because of the violence and drugs his family decided to relocate to Lancaster Pennsylvania. Dr. Vega was a positive and happy child always playing sports and for the most part trouble free.

At the age of 14, Johnny Vega made a choice that would changed his destiny . He began to experiment with drugs. Soon after Vega began selling drugs. As the years went by Vega found himself gettin deeper and deeper into the criminal lifestyle. By the time johnny was 18 they called him the one stop shop. At the age of 20 after being on the run from the federal government for 6 months. Johnny was apprehended and faced 25 years in federal prison. Vega ended up receiving a 100 month sentence and would spend the remainder of his 20’s incarcerated. The day he found out he had to do 100 months in a 12X12 cell he got on his knees and asked God for forgiveness and he made a promise to God that he would make sure young people didn’t make the same choices he made in life. Almost 20 years later now Dr Johnny Vega has held on to that promise by mentoring 1000’s of youth all over the country and has helped run several programs such as Teen Haven, B.A.R.T (becoming a responsible teen), The Hoodrise Program. He also travels all over the country as a motivational speaker inspiring the youth. Today you can catch Dr. Vega every Monday night at 7pm on his amazing podcast The Antidote. Dr. Vega was also ICN’s 2020 youth leader of the year. Not to bad for a convicted felon God is good!
