Meet our team


Ron L. James lived a life in and out of prison until he decided to make the choice to embrace his faith and commit to the hard work of turning his life around. He became a published author and travels the country to shares his story, inspiring others to make their next choice their best choice.

Your Choice Foundation was founded by Ron and a team of supporters to enable him to continue delivering a message of hope, love and faith that inspires and motivates others. Ron is the director of programs for the foundation and continues to add services to address the needs of schools, churches, community organizations, law enforcement and more. 

Fun fact: Happily married to Anneliese James. Their blended family consists of four children - Kyle, Karissa, Lanaya, Mireya and two grandchildren - Sawyer and Payton. Ron enjoys traveling, amusement parks, and brainstorming new ideas. 


Jeffrey L. Bortner, P.E. is the owner and founder of JLB Architectural Engineering. Jeff has spent his entire professional career (since 1977) in the glass, metal and glazing industry with an emphasis on window, curtain wall and storefront projects.

Jeff is a managing director for Your Choice Foundation where he uses his extensive experience in operating his own business to help the foundation establish a strong center of operations 

Fun fact: Jeff is happily married to his very special lady, Tammi. They have raised three children; Meagan, Laura, and Matt. They now have five young grandsons; Sean, Joshua, Ronan, Luke and Caleb. Jeff is a graduate of Penn State University and loves Penn State football, the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens.


Dwayne Petty has more than twelve years of franchising experience, providing organizational support and leadership in the areas of management and daily operations in two national restaurant franchises and two service oriented franchises. 

Dwayne focuses on the value of people and developing their strengths and he does so every day as the operations director for Your Choice Foundation.

Fun Fact: Dwayne is blessed to be married to his beautiful bride Krista.  They have two wonderful children – John David and Emma.  Dwayne is a Cowboys fan as he was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  He loves to invest quality time with his family, as well as travel, snow ski, read/listen to books and watch movies. 


Karen L. Edwards is a marketing leader with more than 20 years’ experience and a strong background in nonprofits and in the construction and roofing industries. Her capabilities encompass all facets of marketing, communications and promotion and she is also a published author and magazine contributor. 

As a managing director of the Your Choice Foundation Karen handles many of the daily operation activities and oversees marketing and communications.

Fun fact: Family is very important to Karen and she is close with her 22-year old daughter, Kate, her brother, Phil, her parents who retired nearby, and her extended family - most of whom are in the Baltimore area. She’s an avid sports fan (Go O's!) and has a weakness for Peppermint Patties, eating one every day at lunch. 


Angela Jackson is the administrative specialist for Your Choice Foundation. 

Fun fact: For the past 21 years she has been a stay at home mom. She has been busy homeschooling her four children Douglas-21, Anthony-18, Elijah-16, Kathryn-14. She and her husband Doug have been married for 24 years.

John Rinaldo

John Rinaldo takes a vision and makes it reality through sound strategy development. He brings more than 25 years’ experience in business development with both line and staff responsibility in Human Resources, Logistics, Customer Service, Sales, and Operations.  He is an energetic problem solver experienced in start-ups and is a recognized team leader with proven negotiating skills lending to consensus building in an organization. 

John's primary focus is to build awareness about Your Choice Foundation’s unique capabilities among prospective clients, and develop and maintain relationships with current and past clients.

Fun fact: John was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, eh?  Andrea and John have five children between them. Family is important as they enjoy spending time with their children and visiting family. John’s favorite writer is Hemmingway and his favorite sport teams are the 49ers, Giants, Canucks, and Notre Dame.
